why the name(eneskay.)? & whats up with the period n’ dots?
( eneskay. ) is the name of the brand ( period. )
It started in our founder’s youth, around the age of fourteen.
He had a small heat press graphic skate company then. That brand had a skate crew and that skate crew had a name…
(notorious skate krew) aka NSK. Fast forwarding through the popular growth - high school years, it built a demand for apparel, using that letter combination more than the first brand itself aka (Warrior Skateboards). Streetwear after Roca Wear & other brands like Eck’o, and Phatfarm began to rise in a new fashion. These brands now were 10 deep, The Hundreds and Obey, paving the way. During this time back in 2006, N.S.K became the official name/acronym for the brand due to momentum in the following of that name. It then stood for (notorious street klothing) now instead of (notorious skate krew).
The evolution of the brand began to take off. Maturity and diversity in the brand design led us to have to change the name one last time. Only this time it was for good. The question was: how do we achieve this without losing the fan base on social media and keep the same name in one small way or another. Changing the acronym N.S.K into an abbreviation NSK keeps the letters N.S.K and its following and allows us to not be limited by skate or street wear fashion like the first two names did. Now what is that abbreviating? (eneskay.) - the phonetics of it all. Making this last change allowed our fashion, our style, our influence to not be defined by these genres, instead by who we are and what we like, our total encompass. (eneskay.) is the name of the brand and when you ask why the period? It’s because that’s the name… period. It takes us away from labels and allows us to define the brand. Why the two dots? These are the two dots that once made it an acronym. We move them away from letters to show a little bit of our origin in the new logo, the evolution.
WHO IS (eneskay.) ?
To define us is to limit us. We take a vast amount of influences from all arts, music, writers, designers, comedians, architects, engineers, film makers, video games, cartoonists, action sports… you get the picture, we love it all. If you must put a label on it, then we’re a creative lifestyle brand for the eclectic. Our fashion covers a wide spectrum of scenes. Stemming out of the Mojave desert with big hopes to create the undone, our vision continues to fashion the attitudes and outlook of the unknown. We are (eneskay.) and one day that word will have its true meaning with our actions and design that define it, So for now just sit back and watch us be great.
